Individual Psychotherapy: The process of psychotherapy involves identifying goals, charting a path to work toward those goals, and looking for any unhelpful patterns that may have prevented your success in the past. This process will vary based on your individual needs. Similar to well-known psychologist Carl Rogers, I use a client-centered approach, meaning you are the expert on what is best for you. My goal as therapist is to assist with removing the obstacles (whether seen or unseen) to growth. I have found that this approach fosters personal growth and self-confidence to provide long-lasting results. In addition to traditional psychotherapy, also known as “talk therapy,” I provide a short-term treatment option called Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART).
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART): ART is the groundbreaking research-backed therapy that has garnered numerous online testimonials from satisfied clients. In just 1 to 5 sessions, ART can be used to treat specific symptoms or problems such as anxiety, trauma/PTSD, OCD, grief issues, and more. This type of therapy can even be used to treat problems such as procrastination, perfectionism, and other unwanted patterns or habits. ART uses a technique called bilateral stimulation to make positive changes in the brain during a process known as memory reconsolidation. While the concept of bilateral stimulation is not new, ART combines this technique with imaginal exposure (focusing on images in the mind) in a unique way to leverage the brain’s ability to make new connections and resolve problems. ART can also be combined with traditional counseling to help clients in areas where they feel stuck. Learn more about this unique therapy option by watching the video below or by visiting the national ART website at www.AcceleratedResolutionTherapy.com.

Session Length: The standard meeting time for a traditional psychotherapy session is 50-60 minutes. Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) sessions are scheduled for 90 minutes. This is due to the fact that ART is a specialized treatment option that follows a specific protocol. Scheduling these sessions for 90 minutes ensures that there is enough time to introduce the treatment, review client goals for the session, proceed through the treatment in its entirety, and answer any questions clients may have at the end of the session.
